• Results in Anti-tumor Chemoimmunotherapy?Achieved by Prof.?Shi Xiangyang’s Research Team

    Recently, the research team headed by Prof. Shi Xiangyang from the College of Biological Science and Medical Engineering of DHU has made progress in phosphorous dendron micelles as a nanomedicine platform for tumor chemoimmunotherapy. The research result was published in Advanced Materials entitled Phosphorous Dendron Micelles as a Nanomedicine Platform for Cooperative Tumor Chemoimmunotherapy via Synergistic Modulation of Immune Cells, a leading international journal. The first author is doctoral candidate Zhan Mengsi whose affiliation is Donghua University. The corresponding author is Prof. Shi Xiangyang.


    Prof. Shi Xiangyang’s team, in collaboration with Academician Jean-Pierre Majoral’s team from the State Key Laboratory for Modification of Chemical Fibers and Polymer Materials, France, prepared a nanomedicine based on immunomodulatory phosphorus-containing dendron micelles to enhance tumor chemoimmunotherapy by synergistically modulating immune cells, such as natural killer (NK) cells, dendritic cells (DCs) and T cells (Tregs) (Figure 1). Thus they achieved cooperative tumor immunotherapy via synergistic modulation of immune cells.

    In this study, the team developed an immunomodulatory nanoplatform based on sodium phosphite-terminated phosphorus dendron micelles loaded with DOX. It casts light on synergistically modulating multiple immune cells for enhanced anticancer chemoimmunotherapy.
